Beat the Heat 5K to benefit scholarships


Beat the Heat 5k Run/Walk benefitting local first responders will be held on Apr. 29 with a start time of 8:30 a.m. at behind Piner Middle School (402 W. Pecan Street) in Sherman.

The fourth annual event is co-sponsored by the Grayson Honors College and the Grayson County Law Enforcement Association (GCLEA). Proceeds will benefit the GCLEA bereavement fund, the GCLEA scholarship fund, and the Grayson College Deputy Chad Key Memorial Scholarship.

Registration is $25 through Apr. 10 and late registration is $30. Packet pickup will be at Academy Sports & Outdoors,Town Center, 3939 US Hwy 75 North, Sherman, TX 75090 on Friday Apr. 28 from noon until 6 p.m.

Donations will also be accepted through the getmeregistered.com site for people who can not participate but would like to contribute to the cause.

1-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60 and over
